The recently renovated Tupelo Honey Cafe South is sporting a new open-air patio as well as a revamped menu. What was once a dimly lit dining area, is now glowing with natural light and oozing with summer vibes.

There is also a dedicated kid play area with a kitchen set and other fun games to keep your little one occupied while you sip on one of the café’s signature cocktails. (I recommend Eternal Spring, Lavender & Honeysuckle-Lemondrop.)

The updated menu features everything from new appetizers and entrées to brunch items such as the Salted Caramel & Chocolate Pancakes (a must try for anyone with a sweet tooth). Also worth ordering are the Mac & Cheese Bites, Spicy Cauliflower Bites, Rainbow Kale Caesar and, of course, any of the fried chicken dishes if that’s your thing. (If I haven’t mentioned yet, I don’t eat meat and only occasionally eat fish. Just something to keep in mind, as I typically give food recommendations based on what myself and my meat-loving significant other eat.)

Fear not, all you OG Tupelo Honey fans: staple dishes such as the Shoo Mercy Sweet Potato Pancakes, Tupelo Shrimp & Grits and Fried Green Tomatoes haven’t left the menu.

The Takeaway: Tupelo Honey Cafe South has been revitalized by the architectural and culinary overhauls. I’ll be back for more of those Mac & Cheese Bites.
